After Jollof rice, bread is the second consumed meal in Nigeria. And in this period of Covid-19 lockdown, a lot of people have been searching online on how they can make bread by themselves at home because buying bread outside now is a risk to take because those making the bread and their workers take risk daily coming from their homes the fear of them coming in contact with coronavirus is on the rise.
Bread making takes a lot of processes but in today's episode, I will teach you how to make your bread at home yourself with no stress, going out to buy bread will not be a routine any more. And all the ingredients required are what you can get within your streets or a nearby market.
Here is the list of ingredients you need in making your bread:
1.Flour...4cups
2.Sugar...1/2cup
3.Warm water...1/4cup
4.Yeast...1tablespoon
5.Salt...2teaspoon
6.Grated nutmeg..1/2teaspoon
7.Milk...1cup
8.Melted butter..1/4cup
9.Egg...1big
Also, you need a baking pan....you can choose a pan of your desired shape.
The above list is what you need before you can start making your yummy, sweet and soft bread. So without wasting time, let's move straight into the procedure.
Procedure On How To Make Bread
Please follow each step carefully:
1.Sieve the flour and set it aside.
2.Get your 1/4 cup of warm water into a deep bowl, add in one tablespoon of yeast and stir. then allow it to rise.
3.Add in sugar then break the egg and pour into the risen yeast.
4.Melt your butter then add it into the Milk, pour both into the risen yeast, add in two teaspoons of salt, stir to mix to all.
5.Mix the grated nutmeg with flour, then make a well in the middle and pour in yeast mixture, from the side sprinkle flour over the liquid.
6.With your clean hands, mix flour to a make soft and elastic dough.
7.Knead it thoroughly.
8.Return the dough to the floured bowl and keep it in a warm place to rise until it has doubled in size.
9.Return the dough to the surface and knead to a smooth dough, then grease the baking pan with butter then sprinkle a little flour inside the baking pan.
10.Put in a bread pan or any baking pan and keep it in a warm place to raise, ensure to wait for it to rise before baking.
11.you can now bake in a moderately hot oven for 20 minutes.
